Korean vs Overseas Versions: 7 K-Beauty Ingredient Lists Compared
Seven products whose overseas list differed from Korea's (26 Sep–6 Oct 2026); several gaps are Korean renewals.

The short answer
If you are in the US and want a product's Korean formula, start with banila co's balm at Olive Young US: its list matched Korea's 18 ingredients on 5 Oct 2026, while banilausa.com lists 21. In Korea it was #1 in Olive Young's cleansing ranking on 1 Oct 2026, as a collab double set.
A different list is a different version, not a worse one; for Torriden and TIRTIR it is Korea's pre-renewal formula, and each finding covers only the listing named on its card.

How we chose and ordered these products
Pool: 13 products whose overseas ingredient list differed from the Korean Olive Young notice in our 5 Oct 2026 check, plus four 'possible' cases. We kept the 7 sold most widely abroad with the largest change. Overseas lists come from the brand's own store or ingredient sheet, except PARNELL (@cosme SHOPPING in Japan; an Amazon US listing sold by the brand's Korean company), medicube in Japan (Ainz & Tulpe) and medicube's US mark (Ulta). Korean lists are Olive Young Korea notices, except medicube (the brand's Korean store).
Left out: Isntree's onion gel cream and ma:nyo's soybean oil (the brand's own pages contradict each other), Celladix's ampoule in Japan (one ingredient, possibly a site typo), Mediheal's sun serum (same case as Round Lab), Beauty of Joseon's sun cream (renamed, formula not compared).
Order: sold in the US first, then our selection order (how widely the product is sold abroad and how much of the ingredient list changes — see how we chose).
3 of the 6 products with an Olive Young Korea rank reached it through a promotional listing (influencer pick, Olive Young pick, collab or sale).
Our picks at a glance
US OTC note: in the US, products with SPF are regulated as over-the-counter (OTC) drugs. This page is about the Korean version with its Korean SPF label, so we do not link a US store for it.

Korean version vs overseas version
Ingredient lists compared name by name: the Korean list (Olive Young Korea product notice) against the overseas listing. The engine computes the lists below from our product records; nothing here is typed by hand.
Korea's balm has olive and jojoba oils, pomegranate and cranberry; the banilausa.com list has Phenoxyethanol, a preservative, and bamboo and rooibos extracts.

Questions, answered
Is the US version of Korean skincare the same as the Korean one?
For six of these seven, no: the US list we compared differs from Korea's, and PARNELL's Amazon US listing is the one match. Often the US list is an older Korean formula, as with Torriden and TIRTIR, and one name can carry two lists, as with banila co's balm.
Is banila co's balm at Olive Young US the Korean formula?
Yes. On 5 Oct 2026 Olive Young US printed the same 18 ingredients as Olive Young Korea's notice, in the same order, while banilausa.com listed a different 21-ingredient version. Other US sellers were not compared, so their lists are unconfirmed.
Is medicube's PDRN serum salmon-based or vegan?
medicube's PDRN serum is sold both ways in the US. The Korean formula has Milt Extract and Salmon Egg Extract; the vegan Rose PDRN option on Ulta's listing (5 Oct 2026) has neither. Olive Young US listed the salmon formula that day.
Does TIRTIR's cushion at Ulta have SPF like the Korean one?
TIRTIR's global cushion at Ulta shows no SPF on its label, while both Korean versions carry one. Its list matches Korea's classic cushion, which tirtir.co.kr still sells, not the 2026 renewal at Olive Young Korea, so we mark it as a different formula.
Why can't I buy ROUND LAB's Korean birch sunscreen here?
ROUND LAB's Korean sunscreen uses UV filters the US has not approved, and sunscreens are OTC drugs in the US. ROUND LAB's own US store sells a separately registered sunscreen with Avobenzone, Homosalate and Octisalate, so we link no US store.
Is the Korean version worth it for my skin?
Neither version is better by default; each is a different list. It matters when one ingredient decides your purchase, such as innisfree's Retinal or medicube's salmon extracts. Korean survey shares come from listings that do not say which version each buyer had.
